’Connecting’
Red Cross Calling is the organisation’s oldest and most important fundraising event held annually in March. However, with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Red Cross needed to find a safer way to reach Australians.
Our challenge was to re-energise this 72 year-old campaign to ensure the continued support from donators via digital channels to power their charitable efforts in 2021; and to set the campaign up for future success by creating an enduring fundraising campaign platform and mechanism.
Our solution? We pivoted a doorknock appeal called ‘Calling’ into a telethon appeal called ‘Connecting’ using the old and new tech from our smartphones to drive donations.
This was supported by a social P2P campaign to start seeding in the concept of Calling pivoting from doorknocking into a phone based donation mechanic.
